Costa Rica  is one of the few countries in the world in which polar air gets this close to the equator. March, April, and May are the warmest months, September and October are the wettest months and December,January, February are the hottest months in the year. During the winter season the rainfall amounts vary from less than 1500mm (59 inches) to more than 4800mm (190 inches) during these months. Precipitation can come in the form of a tropical downpour with  or the less common, a light rain for several days (temporal).

-The official language in Costa Rica is the Spanish with a few population speak native languages within the indigenous reserves. Many businesses, in and around San Jose, and resorts throughout the country have employees who also speak English.

-The Costa Rica National currency is the Colon (¢1.00) only it changes every two day with the US dollar as it was ¢504.81 colones per dollar on January 24th, 2007.(actually).

-The Geography in Costa Rica is about modest 19,563 square miles (50,900 sq. km) which has amount of flora and fauna. It has 5% of the world’s bio diversity with approximately 1000 of orchids, 800 kinds of ferns, 2000 species of trees and 200 kinds of mammals.

-The Costa Rica National Symbols are: Costa Rica National  Athem, Costa Rica National Flag,  Costa Rica National Shield, Costa Rica National Tree, Costa Rica National Flower, Costa Rica National Bird, Costa Rica National oxcart, Costa Rica National BOYERO

Tourism in Costa Rica is the major business, continues the exportation and importation of fruits as bananas, grains as and beef exports
In 1821 Costa Rica achieved independence and it became a republic in 1848. Now, Costa Rica has enjoyed one of the most democratic governments in Latin America.

-Some presidents have marked the history of Costa Rica were:

  • José Maria Figueres Ferrer of the National Liberation Party abolished the army on 1948
  • Oscar Arias Sanchez, president in 1986, for the role in negotiations with  Nicaraguan and Salvadoran Civil Wars, he got the Nobel Peace Prize in 1987.

the Caribbean averaging is aproximately of 21°C to 30°C (70°F to 86°F). The Pacific side is a few degrees warmer still, but the humidity is generally less, so it tends to be more comfortable. Look at these warmer, beach temperatures below:
The North Pacific Region is known as the "Gold Coast" because it has an abundance of flora and fauna, besides large resort hotel.
The area along the Central Pacific is greener, because of more rainfall, and then going more south toward Dominical and further, it rains more and is more humid. However, you can be quite comfortable in the lowlands weather of either side if you dress minimally, don't exercise too much, and limit your exposure to the midday, intense tropical sun.
